ABOUT

Julia is an Oxford-based freelance teacher trainer and tutor in emotional literacy, with 35+ years' experience of working with children, young people and adults through drama & movement in therapy, teaching and teacher training. She is also an adoptive mum with a special interest in trauma and attachment, and volunteers for Oxfordshire County Council as an adoption buddy.

An approved provider for the ASGSF (Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund), Julia takes referrals from Adopt Thames Valley, families and schools. In consultation with senior leadership teams, she also offers relationship-based, positive behaviour management training and support to nursery, primary, secondary and special school staff in both the state and independent sectors:

  • INSET for teachers, TAs, ELSAs and lunchtime supervisors

  • personalised CPD and classroom-based behaviour support/coaching for ECTs, SCITT trainees and experienced teachers

  • 1:1 or small group tuition in emotional literacy for vulnerable children, adopted children and/or children we care for

  • bespoke training and/or tuition packages

TERMS & CONDITIONS

2024-25 rates range from £95 per hour for 1:1 tuition (including PPA; travel time is charged separately) to £750 per day for training (including PPA; mileage is charged separately). A special rate of £2025 is available for a block booking of three days or six half-days of training. Invoices are issued in arrears.

​

Julia is registered as a dramatherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council and has advanced safeguarding certification, enhanced DBS certification as a Child Workforce Counsellor (School), Tutor (Child Workforce),  Teacher Trainer (Adult Workforce) and Adoption Buddy (Child & Adult Workforce), professional liability insurance and regular clinical supervision.

Julia is a sole practitioner, committed to protecting personal information and being transparent about information held on record. She neither has shared nor will share personal data with any other enterprise for any purpose unless required by law.
